The MiniGrant Project is a part of the Center Without Walls (CWW) Initiative started in 2006 to help various Jewish organizations in the New York City area attract and work successfully with Jews from Russian-speaking families.

The MiniGrant Project awards grants up to $5,000 to interested young Russian-speaking Jewish persons to start innovative community projects, such as art exhibits, salon clubs, theater groups, etc. at different locations in NYC. Each selected participant has access to an advisor - a Jewish communal professional - who advises and assists grant recipients with development and implementation of their project.

In its third year, the MGP has 7 alumni and 7 current minigrantees. Projects so far have ranged from scavenger hunts, photography exhibitions, puppet theatre Purim Shpiels to film festivals.  Projects encourage participants to become proactive in the community through their involvement and dedication. This dedication has fostered an incredible level of involvement that could never have been imagined.
