COJECO Youth Leadership Program

Zoom In!, a unique leadership opportunity for young Russian-speaking Jewish professionals in their 20’s and 30s.

Zoom In! offers a rare chance for its participants to explore their interests and figure out a new way to make a difference in his/her own life and the lives of others. Participants will hear from captivating speakers who are experienced in the field of philanthropy and non-profit work. They will look at new ways to get involved in the Russian Jewish community and other communities. The program is not only an amazing networking opportunity, but also a great way to meet new and interesting people; whether it’s meeting other participants or prominent figures alike.

We can help you answer questions like:
Why do I need to care?
If not me, then who?
How does the non-profit and philanthropic field work?
What other options do I have if I don’t want to work for a non-profit?
Who are these people that help, and why do they do it?
How do I figure out who and where I want to help?

There will also be an opportunity to travel to Israel and/or Russia with the entire group at the end of the program.

The program will meet one Thursday a month for 9 months, starting in September 2008. It is absolutely free to join.

No experience in non-profit or philanthropy is needed. If interested, please contact Elena at elenaw@cojeco.org or call (212) 566-2120 x12 to receive more information and an application.

We hope to hear from you soon!

COJECO Salutes Israel!!

On Sunday June 1st the largest attended parade dedicated to the 60th anniversary of The State of Israel took place in Manhattan. It was the first time when Russian-speaking Jews participated so enthusiastically: over two thousand Russian Jewish Americans came to support Israel.

This year the Board of Directors and staff of COJECO remarkably organized our group. We strived for the greatest representation of Russian-speaking Jews in this very special year for The State of Israel; and succeeded. We have developed and implemented an effective PR and advertising campaign as well as ordered specially designed T-shirts and provided bus transportation for the participants who couldn’t use public transportation.

We greatly appreciate the enthusiasm of all Russian-speaking Jews who participated in the Salute to Israel Parade. Thank you, dear friends!

We are very glad that our united efforts were rewarded with success. It couldn’t have happened without your dedication to Israel. Together, we demonstrated our unity in our support of The State of Israel as well as the growing role of Russian-speaking Jewish community in America. We are confident in the prosperity of the State of Israel and are ready to do everything to support it.
