Unique Leadership Event on Long Island Joins Young Russian Jews with Major Figures from Philanthropy, Education, Jewish Organizational Life and Israel on August 9th, 2009

 

The premier summer event for Russian-speaking Jewish Americans, Limmud FSU brings together and empowers young Jews from the Soviet Union who are reviving and revitalizing their Jewish community into dynamic events, seminars, informal learning sessions, panel discussions and performances. Limmud focuses on a wide range of topics from social and political trends within Jewish communities to Israeli politics; from dilemmas to Jewish cooking; from traditional texts to Jewish theatre.The day will feature prominent philanthropists, scholars, Jewish communal leaders,high-ranking Israeli ministers and Knesset members, and entertainers.

 

The event, during the 150th anniversary year of the birth of famed Yiddish author Shalom Aleichem, takes place 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 9, on the grounds of the Hampton Synagogue in Westhampton Beach, New York.
