Leonard Petlakh

Leonard Petlakh received his B.A. in Jewish Studies from Hunter College, CUNY and his M.B.A in management from Baruch College, CUNY. He has served as the Executive Director of the Kings Bay YM YWHA in Brooklyn since December, 2006. The Y serves the Sheepshead Bay, Marine Park, Homecrest, Midwood, Bergen Beach and Mill Basin neighborhoods of Brooklyn. The Y has added other branches in Brooklyn: Kings Bay Y at Windsor Terrace, serving Brownstone Brooklyn and Kings Bay Y in North Williamsburg, serving North Brooklyn. In the summer 2016, the Y is establishing new programs serving two additional Brownstone Brooklyn neighborhoods: Fort Greene and Clinton Hill. Prior to this position, Leonard served as the Associate Executive Director of the Hebrew Free Loan Society in NY from 1999 to 2006. He was also an instructor of Jewish history at Hunter College. Leonard serves as Vice President of the American Zionist Movement, a national Zionist umbrella organization. He lives with his family in South Merrick, Long Island.
