About Event

Now in its fourth-year residency at JCC Manhattan, Arlekino Theater Troupe cultivates interest for cultural arts in Russian-speaking Jewish children ages 4-6, while instilling an appreciation for their Jewish heritage. This two-hour program nurtures children’s self-expression, inquiry, and exploration, and promotes Russian language development. The program includes dramatic play, music, dance, storytelling, and art workshops, inspiring young children through interactive interpretations of Jewish folktales, courtesy of the PJ Library. The program culminates in an original, multidisciplinary performance piece by the programs participants. Taught in Russian by experienced early childhood educators and performing and fine-arts specialists. For more information, contact Jane Tuv at jtuv@jccmanhattan.org.

Generation Я at JCC Manhattan

www.jccmanhattan.org/communities/generation-r/

Generation Я is an initiative at JCC Manhattan for Russian Jews created by Russian Jews. Sharing similar childhood and immigration experiences, Russian-speaking Jews (RSJs) in their 20s, 30s, and 40s create and experience programs that explore the dual nature of their identities as American Jews from Russian-speaking families.
