COJECO is excited to launch its Adult B’nai Mitzvah Journey, a program for Russian-speaking Jewish adults in New York! This unique experience encourages and enables the participants to join meaningful Jewish learning, celebrate their Bar/Bat Mitzvah, and bring the joy of Jewish living to their families.
The program empowers RSJ change makers to create their own community-building initiatives, with the support of a network of peers, educational workshops, one-on-one mentorship, and mini-grants for project implementation.

Bringing Russian-speaking Jewish young adults on a 9-day educational trips to Germany to explore the past and present of Jewish life in Germany, and to experience modern Germany first hand.

Dr. Samuels is the Managing Director of the Impact and Performance Assessment department at the UJA-Federation of New York. Prior to this position she was a tenured Research Scientist at the Nathan Kline Institute for Psychiatric Research in NY. She maintains faculty appointments at New York University’s School of Medicine, Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and at the NYU Global Institute for Public Health. She has had an active consultancy with work in more than 20 US States, the Federal Government, many national and several international organizations. She has served on a variety of nonprofit boards and advisory boards. Dr. Samuels has an MBA from Rutgers University, an M.Phil. and a PhD in Public Administration from New York University. In her doctoral studies she concentrated on social science research methods, organizational development and public policy. Dr. Samuels has conducted and led extensive research in social services, health services, policy and finance. She maintains a voluntary position as a member of the US National Research Council on Homelessness and continues her work as a scientific reviewer for the National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP).

COJECO was formed in 2001 as an umbrella organization for grassroots community organizations of Russian-speaking Jewish immigrants in New York to make their voices heard and respected. Today we represent over 30 such network organizations, including young adult leadership groups, Holocaust Survivors, professional associations, arts & culture organizations, and social justice groups.
