Liudmila Dubinsky

Teacher at Shalom Education Center

Liudmila (Lucy) Dubinsky is the Hebrew and Jewish History teacher at Shalom Education Center in Rockville, MD. She teaches Russian-speaking Jewish children, ranging in age from 6 through 13 (including B'nei-Mitzvah). She teaches reading, writing, and speaking Hebrew, as well as Jewish history, traditions and Jewish Holidays. Liudmila graduated from State National University of Kyiv, Ukraine, and lived and worked in Israel for six years.

Mission: Create a joyful learning environment for Russian-speaking Jewish children where the cycle of alienation and unawareness of Jewish literacy can be broken and Jewish learning begins.
Prepare children for life-long roles of educators and Jewish leadership in their families and community stressing appreciation and love of Jewish history and traditions.
Develop a family-centered program for participation in cultural events, Shabbat and Jewish holidays.
Create an engaging environment for Russian-speaking children and their families to appreciate Jewish and Russian education.
Prepare Russian-speaking Jews for mainstream participation in American Jewish communal institutions.
Our goal is to enhance and nurture Jewish family life of the Russian Jewish Community.
