Laura Vladimirova set out to create a community garden in Bath Beach, a Russian-Jewish neighborhood in Southern Brooklyn, with several key goals:

a) To create a space that can be used by local seniors, kids and others

b) To promote sustainability to the local community;

c) To create a space of environmental awareness post Hurricane Sandy by planting plants that are indigenous to the area
