Art Children & Family Community Building Educational Workshop 2018-2019A series of art workshops for children, exploring the wisdom of Jewish texts and art. Collective artwork created will have a purpose of moving towards peace, conflict resolution, empathy and reconciliation.
Join us for this unique immersive studio-art event for children and parents, based on the works of Yehuda Pen and Marc Chagall. This will be our first big event in the BluePrint Project series presented by the Peace Art Project team. We have been working very hard to make this event special, meaningful, and enjoyable for all of you. Art activities will include clay, painting, still life, self portrait, illustration, and more. Workshops will focus on developing empathy. Ages 6 and up welcome. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Children will explore the life and work of Yehuda Pen through an immersive journey to his art school for children. This studio workshop will also feature mystical subjects of one of Pen’s students, Mark Chagall. Children will experience Jewish Vitebsk at the end of the 19th, beginning of 20th century and get involved in hands-on art projects that develop empathy.

Ilona Bouzoukachvili Школа Пэна (Art School of Yehuda Pen) Ilona is originally from Moscow. Her most pleasant childhood memories are associated with visiting her grandparents in Georgia. In the United States Ilona studied English, Graphic Design and Fine Arts. She worked as a Graphic Designer in children's publishing. In recent years Ilona has been organizing community projects for kids and composing Jewish songs in Russian to the guitar. She is also known for baking delicious Challah. Ilona currently works in nursery schools where she teaches art, substitute teaches and babysits.
