COJECO is excited to launch its Adult B’nai Mitzvah Journey, a program for Russian-speaking Jewish adults in New York! This unique experience encourages and enables the participants to join meaningful Jewish learning, celebrate their Bar/Bat Mitzvah, and bring the joy of Jewish living to their families.
The program empowers RSJ change makers to create their own community-building initiatives, with the support of a network of peers, educational workshops, one-on-one mentorship, and mini-grants for project implementation.

In the Russian-American Jewish Community, Israel is most frequently associated with religious and cultural frameworks. In addition to rich religious and cultural background, Israel is one of the world’s leaders in business innovation. This project is designed to increase visibility and understanding of Israeli brands by Russian-American Jewish community, and strengthen the community’s connection with Israel through purchasing Israeli products. The project entails creating an online platform that will introduce the readers to the modern Israeli business environment and brands. The online platform and the corresponding launch event, will promote active engagement of Russian-American Jews with Israel via developing new consumer behaviors that support Israeli economy.
Maria Blekher Made in Israel Maria was born in Samara. At the age of 8, together with her family, she made Aliya to Israel, and 23 years later, in 2013 she came to the US as a visiting scholar at NYU Stern School of Business. Maria is a Marketing expert; she has an MBA and a PhD in Marketing from the Ben Gurion University in Israel and experience in consulting and working in the banking and high tech industries. Today Maria is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Marketing and Director of MS in Marketing online program at Yeshiva University.
COJECO was formed in 2001 as an umbrella organization for grassroots community organizations of Russian-speaking Jewish immigrants in New York to make their voices heard and respected. Today we represent over 30 such network organizations, including young adult leadership groups, Holocaust Survivors, professional associations, arts & culture organizations, and social justice groups.
